Although Mr. Zehnle’s practice prominently features white collar criminal defense, independent examinations and internal corporate investigations, he also handles complex civil litigation, administrative proceedings and tax controversy work on behalf of his clients.  For example, in the tax arena, Mr. Zehnle routinely litigates complicated tax issues and proposed penalty assessments with the Internal Revenue Service. He has also defended individuals such as lawyers and accountants against professional malpractice claims. With respect to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Mr. Zehnle defends clients against forfeiture claims, disgorgement and related issues brought by the Commission’s staff.

Clients involved in civil lawsuits and administrative proceedings need advocates who are experienced in the courtroom, just as do criminal defendants.  Attorneys who have a consistent track record of success are recognized and respected by opposing counsel. Mr. Zehnle is not only well-equipped to handle litigation should the civil dispute proceed to court, but by virtue of the risks involved in going against an experienced litigator, one’s opponent may well be willing to negotiate a more favorable settlement with the client.
